Spring is well under way, but with all the rain that has been coming down on us, I have been very slow to get out in the garden and get things going. It looks like the weather is settling down and it is time to start doing what it takes to get that garden going or to keep it going if you are so fortunate as to have a year round garden.
In today's session, I will share some gardening tips and do a demo or two that hopefully will provide some inspiration to get you off the couch and into the yard.
The session will be an open session and everybody is welcome to contribute with their hints, ideas, and stories related to good gardening. Please join us for interesting and timely get together!
On July 27, 2017, some members of EGG attended a tour of the Zanker Road Recycling Center. The host will give a short presentation on anaerobic digestion for biogas production, as a follow-up of our visit to Zero Waste Energy's bio-digester facility which is the largest in the world and located next door to Zanker Recycling.
A future field trip to the Central Energy Facility at Stanford University will also be discussed. It is encouraged that if you want to go on this field trip, provide information to EGG as soon as possible since space is limited.
Five years have passed since we witnessed the nuclear tragedy at Fukushima, Japan. What is the status of this situation? How are the people doing? Is cleanup going as anticipated? Have any surprises been encountered. Join us for this interesting session in which Mei-Ling Shek will provide some answers to our questions and maybe give some hints as to what possible short term and long term affects will be observed. This session will include a video and some discussion.
Please join us for this informative and interesting session on April 13, 2017!
