Come learn about innovative ways that people grow food in urban areas. We shall view several videos about unconventional ways of growing food, that not only make efficient use of resources and reduce waste, but also deliver fresh, high-quality produce to urban consumers.

We shall learn about the role of aquaponics in the future of our food supply from Charlie Price, of the social enterprise Aquaponics UK, and take a virtual tour of Ouroborosfarms in Half Moon Bay.

Then Pui-Kwan Chu will talk of how she got started with urban gardening projects in Hong Kong, a city of 7 million people, so that people can get some real food.

Stuart Oda, Co-Founder of Alesca Life, will tell us how he hopes to revolutionize the agricultural industry by means of urban farming inside of shipping containers, bringing food security and food safety to the masses, and also ending the environmental degradation incurred by today’s industrial agriculture.
