About the Presenters

Mei-Ling Shek has worked as consultant and as scientist in both academic and industrial startup settings (telecom optoelectronics & low-power solar concentrator).  She has a background in surface science, materials & optics, and hopes to contribute to LED lighting. Her favorite environmental organizations are the Union of Concerned Scientists and Natural Resources Defense Council.

AlexMednick1 25 12Alex  Mednick has a BS Degree in Environmental Planning from UC Davis and a BS Degree in Computer Science from Cal State University, Hayward. Alex has worked in Technical Support at several Hi Tech Companies, most notably, Sun Microsystems,  Epson,  Zoran, and Tibco. Alex recently began consulting for an LED Company, where he has a variety of Business Development and Operations roles to increase the awareness of changes in Title 24 and how it affects local businesses.
