A Presentation by Nancy Hartsoch

DSC 5813 mediumAging plumbing, outdated distribution systems and equipment malfunctions cost property owners billions of dollars in water damage and loss annually. Despite the severity of the problem, available solutions, which focus primarily on spot detection, have been limited in their ability to address the problem. In addition millions of gallons of water are lost due to a variety of causes, and these losses often go undetected for months until a very large bill arrives two months later causing a shock wave and urgent investigation of the situation.

The AquaSeca system, which leverages major advances in acoustic sensing, cloud based computing, machine learning and wireless communications, detects leaks throughout a building, not simply at the location of an installed sensor such as under an appliance.  The solution includes a group of low-cost, non-invasive, battery operated, wireless acoustic sensors which are strapped onto accessible pipes. The sensors “listen” to water flow and collect and transfer data to AquaSeca’s cloud-based analytics hub where the data is analyzed to create the building’s unique operational water footprint.  Thereafter, the building is monitored 24/7; when unexpected water usage patterns are identified, actionable information is sent to the property manager. Installation is done without plumbers or electricians, and the system can be tied into existing shut off valves or other building management systems. The highlights of the products includes:

* Fast Leak Detection      * Protects property

* Real Time Monitoring    * Reduces water consumption

* Low Cost                     * Lower cost than incumbent solutions

* Easy Installation          * Non-invasive install
