A Presentation by G. John Foggiato
This week we will address the topic of employment in the Cleantech area within Silicon Valley. As the need to reduce our carbon footprint becomes more important, opportunitites in the Cleantech area are growing and becoming very important. G. John Foggiato will guide the audience through the current state of gaining employment in this area. He will cover the demographics of clean technology in Silicon Valley which includes:
- Energy Storage
- Energy Efficiency
- LEED Certified Buildings
- Electric Transport Development
- Clean Water
He will explore other technologies including:
- Bio Fuels
- Wind Energy Power Generation
- Wave/Ocean Energy Generation
The presentation will include examining applications and opportunities, job opportunities, sources for training, and sources of information with the technology sectors listed above. Join us for this exciting presentation.

About the Presenter
G. John Foggiato obtained his PhD from Stanford and began his career in semiconductor manufacturing. Holding various engineering management positions initially at Fairchild and Amdahl, he then went into several startups in developing semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This eventually led to going into technical marketing, with Novellus and Quester Technology where was VP of Technology. Upon leaving the semiconductor manufacturing environment, he started consulting in the areas of clean technologies, solar, LED implementation and recently in batteries. He has been involved with Clean Tech Open as mentor, judge and startup facilitator. He now teaches numerous courses at Work2Future and local companies.
