About The Presenter
Debra Kiefel is passionately interested in bringing the natural world back to the Santa Clara Valley in the way of California Native Gardens surrounding most commercial buildings throughout the valley, as well as using California Native plants in residential gardens. Over the years Debra has seen firsthand the increased use of all the “wild nature” parks in the surrounding foothills of the Santa Clara Valley, including the parks along the bay. She strongly feels that people should have access to “wild nature places” within walking distance from where they live, work, and play. People need such places on so many levels to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. Too research the possibility of such a dream coming true for all South Bay residents she is now actively exploring venues as to how such a huge endeavor can be made a reality. With an interest in many areas of the environmental field, after obtaining her Environmental Studies BA degree from SJSU she explored a number of paths including composting, oil recycling, recycling, and construction waste salvage. Over the last few years she was a contractor at eBay where she converted meta data from ticketing systems into reports that management could use for business decisions.
